At the end of 2021, the Russian auto industry showed an increase in key indicators. This was announced by the Minister of Industry and Trade Denis Manturov.
According to him, measures to stimulate localization and support demand for cars made in Russia helped to maintain positive dynamics. “According to preliminary data, in 2021 the production of cars in the Russian Federation exceeded 1.5 million units, which is 10% more than in 2020. In particular, the growth in production in the passenger car segment amounted to about 8%,” the head of the Ministry of Industry and Trade, who is quoted as saying press service of the department.
At the same time, sales of new cars last year increased by more than 6% – up to 1.8 million units.
“The system of electronic passports of vehicles, which shows this data in real time, allows to assess the situation on the automotive market quickly, practically online,” – added Manturov.
Formerly head of the Ministry of Industry and Trade statedthat the rise in prices in 2022 will not be as serious as in 2021. Manturov also recalled that 20 billion rubles were allocated in the budget to support demand – preferential car loans, leasing (including electric vehicles) and subsidies for the purchase of natural gas vehicles.
In early January, the government included electric vehicles in concessional leasing and car loan programs. So, according to the decree on expanding the preferential leasing program, the discount on the purchase of a light electric car will be up to 25% of its cost, but not more than 625 thousand rubles.
The second document expanded the rules for subsidizing preferential car loans: electric vehicles will be added to cars with an internal combustion engine worth up to 1.5 million rubles (discount amount – 10%; for the Far Eastern Federal District – 25%). The discount for them will also be up to 25% of the cost of an electric car, but not more than 625 thousand rubles.
In addition, the authorities have expanded the list of categories of citizens who can apply for participation in the program of preferential car loans – it includes employees of institutions of the state educational system. Previously, citizens who purchase their first car, families with one or more children, employees of state medical institutions and car owners who trade in cars over six years of age, could benefit from preferential terms.
