FMBA will provide the Russian Federation with new test systems for detecting “omicron” in 7-10 days

The Federal Biomedical Agency (FMBA) within 7-10 days will be able to reach the basic capacity for the production of test systems capable of detecting the omicron coronavirus strain. This was announced by the head of FMBA Veronika Skvortsova.

On the air of the Russia-24 TV channel, Skvortsova said that in a day and a half, orders were received from large state corporations and constituent entities of the Russian Federation, from the Far East to the European part of the country. “We will provide a working turnover within 7-10 days,” she stressed, adding that FMBA will be able to produce one million test systems a week and, if necessary, increase production to two or three million.

Recall the day before Roszdravnadzor has registered the first test system in our country capable of detecting omicron. It was reported that a set of regents allows detecting the presence of this strain with high sensitivity in just an hour and a half. The test system is intended for use in clinical laboratory diagnostics.
