Fraudsters began to use robotic assistants – Rossiyskaya Gazeta

A new scheme of deception was invented by telephone scammers – they began to use voice robots to communicate with potential victims.

The press service of the Main Directorate of the Ministry of Internal Affairs in Moscow reported that now scammers use voice robots to ring up bank clients and, having gained confidence, entice information that allows them to perform transactions in the client’s online bank.

The call is made with the help of a banking robot-assistant, which informs the subscriber that suspicious transactions are allegedly carried out in his personal account. For example, we can talk about transferring money, applying for a loan or changing the phone number associated with your personal account. In tone mode, the interlocutor is asked to confirm these operations. If the person refuses, a connection is made with a false bank security officer, who in a conversation tries to find out all the data of the subscriber. In principle, the fraudsters have introduced some know-how into the usual scheme. Clients are won over by the technical equipment of the “bank employees”. The police remind that bank employees and their robotic assistants do not call customers, and the police do not ask them to participate in a special operation.
