Golikova called “dramatic” the absence of a decrease in mortality from COVID – RBC

Despite the fact that the number of COVID-19 infections in Russia has been shrinking for six days in a row, mortality from this coronavirus infection remains practically at the same level. Deputy Prime Minister and head of the operational headquarters for the fight against infection Tatyana Golikova called this situation “dramatic.”

“Unfortunately, in the country as a whole, we have not yet observed a significant decrease in the mortality rate. As before, more than 1.2 thousand of our citizens die every day. These are serious, dramatic statistics, ”Golikova said at a video meeting between Russian President Vladimir Putin and members of the government.

More than 1.2 thousand deaths from COVID-19 are recorded by the headquarters in Russia every day, starting from November 9. At its peak, the death toll rose to 1,254 per day. According to Golikova, most often people die from COVID-19 at the age of 65 and older.
