In Rostov-on-Don, due to hurricane winds, the gusts of which reached 72 kilometers per hour, the main Christmas tree of the city fell.
A decorative structure installed in front of the entrance to the Gorky Park of Culture and Leisure collapsed onto the sidewalk of Bolshaya Sadovaya Street. None of the pedestrians were injured in the incident.
“In relation to the supplier of the fallen city Christmas tree near Gorky Park, an inspection will be carried out. Claim work will be carried out on the quality of the installed structure,” – reported “RG” in the administration of Rostov-on-Don.
Note that the collapsed Christmas tree is the highest in the region. It is two meters higher than the 22-meter festive structure installed in Novocherkassk.
According to the Rostov hydrometeorological center, weather conditions are expected to worsen in the region. Heavy snowfall and squally winds up to 20 meters per second are possible. The Civil Defense and Emergency Department of Rostov-on-Don recommends that citizens stay as far away from light buildings, masts, billboards and trees as possible.
