Russian tennis player Aslan Karatsev won the tennis tournament in Sydney, Australia.
On the eve of the start of the Australian Open, a number of tennis tournaments are held on the Green Continent. In Sydney, the 28-year-old Russian Aslan Karatsev made it to the final, whose opponent was the former number one world ranking Briton Andy Murray.
Karatsev, who became the discovery of last season precisely thanks to his performance in Australia, seized the initiative from the first set. He outnumbered the 34-year-old Briton and confidently won – 6:3. In the second set, the Russian dream was stronger – 6:3.
For Karatsev, this victory was the third in his career at the ATP tournaments. Previously, he won in Dubai and Moscow.
