Today, 28-year-old central defender of the Paraguay national team, Junior Alonso, who recently played for the Brazilian Atletico Mineiro, has officially become a player of Krasnodar. This was reported in the evening of January 12 at the press service of the “bulls”.
“Alonso signed contract with “Krasnodar”, which will be valid until June 30, 2025, – says the information posted on the website of the Kuban club. – A few days ago the parties reached an agreement in principle, and today the last formalities were settled. The Paraguayan defender will play for the “bulls” at number 12 ”.
The transfer of the player cost the “bulls”, according to the Brazilian media, about 8 million euros.
The pupil of the Cerro Porteno club made his debut in the Paraguayan Example in 2013, becoming the champion of the country in its composition. Then in his football career there were appearances for the French “Lille”, the Spanish “Celta”, the famous “Boca Juniors” (in which he won the Argentine championship 2019/20). And then he signed with Atletico Mineiro. As part of this team, he won the Brazilian Championship 2020/21, having also won the prestigious personal trophy – Bola de Prato (Silver Ball), as one of the best defenders in the league. “
Junior Alonso is a footballer of the Paraguay national team, played 44 matches for the national team of his country and scored two goals.
As we have already said, specialists celebrate his excellent positional play in the center of defense, his ability to launch attacks with long and precise passes to the front line, and also his indomitable fighting character. With his arrival, “Krasnodar” is going to radically improve the game in defense: because of the regular gross mistakes of their defenders, “bulls” regularly lose the most important points.
By the way, the Krasnodar players arrived this afternoon for their first training camp in the capital of the United Arab Emirates – the city of Dubai. The new head coach of the “bulls” Daniel Farke is expected to join them here: according to Sky Sports, the German specialist is already agreed a two-year contract with the Kubans, and in the near future it will be signed.
But Junior Alonso will soon be forced to leave Krasnodar: the player has been called up for the qualifying matches for the 2022 World Cup in the South American group, in which the Paraguayan national team will take Uruguay at home on January 28, and will play on the road with Brazil on February 2.
