Employees of the Main Directorate of Criminal Investigation of the Ministry of Internal Affairs and the Ministry of Internal Affairs for the Republic of North Ossetia, together with officers of the FSB and Rosgvardia, detained two people who were selling firearms and counterfeit banknotes, Russian Interior Ministry spokesman Irina Volk told RBC.
The alleged dealers were detained at a gas station on the Kavkaz highway and in the Moscow region.
“In total, during operational activities, the police seized seven firearms, about 200 cartridges of various calibers and counterfeit banknotes worth 700 thousand rubles from illegal circulation,” Volk said.
North Ossetian investigators opened criminal cases under Art. 186 and 222 of the Criminal Code – “Production, storage, transportation or sale of counterfeit money or securities” and “Illegal acquisition, transfer, sale, storage, transportation, transfer or carrying of weapons, main parts of firearms, ammunition.”
