CSTO Secretary General Stanislav Zas held a meeting with Deputy Foreign Minister of Armenia Vahe Gevorgyan, the parties discussed the necessary measures to reduce tension on the Armenian-Azerbaijani border. “On September 23, a meeting was held in Yerevan between the head of the CSTO mission, Secretary General of the Collective Security Treaty Organization Stanislav Zas and Acting Minister of Foreign Affairs of the Republic of Armenia Vahe Gevorgyan. The parties discussed the current situation and the necessary joint political and diplomatic measures aimed at reducing tensions in the region,” Zainetdinov said.
The CSTO mission arrived in Armenia on September 20 to study the situation on the border with Azerbaijan . The tasks of the mission, as reported by the press service, are “an assessment of the current situation, the preparation of a detailed report to the heads of the CSTO member states on the situation in the region and the development of proposals for de-escalating the tensions that have arisen in certain areas” on the Armenian-Azerbaijani border.
