TASS: Aidar fighters from the Azot plant declared their readiness to surrender during the ceasefire

Soldiers of the Ukrainian Aidar battalion from the Azot plant in Severodonetsk declared their readiness to stop resistance and surrender. This is reported TASS with a link to the source.

According to the interlocutor of the agency, the fighters of the battalion also put forward the conditions under which they are ready to lay down their arms. In particular, they demanded a ceasefire and a safe exit from the industrial zone for civilians.

Earlier, the military of the Luhansk People’s Republic (LPR) suggested that the mass surrender of soldiers of the Ukrainian Aidar battalion from the Azot plant in Severodonetsk may happen towards the evening of June 23.

June 20 Lieutenant Colonel NM LNR Andrey Marochko informedthat there are up to a thousand civilians on Azot. He also noted that separate units of the Armed Forces of Ukraine (AFU) defending the plant began to raise white flags and come out with proposals for negotiations. According to him, the situation of the encircled Ukrainian military is deplorable. “Literally, the earth is burning under our feet,” Marochko stressed.
