AMLO appoints Hazael Ruiz as the new head of federal prisons – El Sol de México

President Andres Manuel Lopez Obrador ordered to be named Hazel Ruiz Ortega as the new owner of Decentralized Administrative Body of Prevention Y Social Rehabilitation (OADPRS).

The appointment was made by the Secretary of the Interior, Adam Augusto Lopez Hernandezin the presence of the owner of the Secretary of Security Y Citizen Protection (SSPC), Rosa Icela Rodriguez Velazquez.

Hazael Ruiz Ortega replaces Jose Angel Avila Perezwho was reported to continue in the Federal Public Administrationalthough the position he will hold was not specified.

The new owner of OADPRS He began his career as a prison technician at the Mexico City in January 1996, as criminologist and became deputy secretary of the Prison system on the capitalfrom November 2013 to November 2021.

Ruiz Ortega served, until November of last year, as head of the penitentiary system of the Mexico Citybut left office by “a personal decision” and was replaced by Enrique Serrano Flowers.

He directed efforts to consolidate and build the System of Penitentiary Information (Yep) and integrate it to Mexico Platformalso promoted the creation of the first detoxification clinics inside the prisons.

In the same way, he instituted, for the first time, trust control tests and examinations toxicological to all the staff of Prison system of the City of Mexico.
