US President Biden says we should be concerned about the spread of monkeypox
President of the U.S.A Joe Biden believes that everyone should be concerned about the spread of monkeypox. He stated this during a conversation with reporters before flying out of South Korean Pyeongtaek, according to site White House.
“I haven’t been told the extent of the impact yet, but that’s something everyone should be concerned about,” the American leader advised. Biden also said that experts are working on the selection of a suitable vaccine.
Earlier, the British tabloid Mirror saw a “Russian trace” in the spread of monkeypox – journalists declaredthat Russia, until the early 1990s, considered the possibility of using the infection as a biological weapon. The British edition drew attention to a long-standing interview with a former Soviet expert and deputy head of the USSR biological weapons program, Kanat Alibekov, who now lives in the United States.
World Health Organization reported earlier about the increase in the number of cases of human infection with monkeypox. So far, 92 cases have been laboratory-confirmed, and 28 are under investigation.
