Former Ultimate Fighting Championship (UFC) champion Conor McGregor was invited to star in a remake of the cult American action movie Road House. The fighter has already agreed to accept this offer.
The main character of the picture (according to the plot, this is a former UFC fighter who got a job as a security guard in a roadside bar) will be played by Jake Gyllenhaal, reports Deadline on Thursday, the fourth of August.
The film will be directed by Doug Liman (Edge of Tomorrow, Mr. & Mrs. Smith) and will begin filming in August 2022 in the Dominican Republic.
The role assigned to McGregor has not yet been named. Deadline notes that this will not be a cameo – the fighter will play a full-fledged character.
McGregor’s last fight so far took place on July 11, 2021 under the rules of MMA under the auspices of the UFC. At the end of the first round, the fighter from Ireland stumbled and broke his leg. But Six months later, he announced his readiness to return to the sport.
