The sanctions of the European Union (EU), Canada, Great Britain make it impossible to supply a turbine for the Russian Nord Stream gas pipeline. Gazprom announced this in its official Telegram channel on Wednesday, August 3rd.
“The sanctions regimes of Canada, the EU, the UK and the inconsistency of the current situation with the current contractual obligations on the part of Siemens make the delivery of the 073 engine to the Portovaya CS impossible,” Gazprom said.
Germany previously announced that the supply of turbines for the Nord Stream gas pipeline are not subject to EU sanctions, noting that they have everything they need to send the gas pumping unit to Russia. The Kremlin indicated that in order to import the turbine into the Russian Federation, Gazprom must obtain documents stating that the equipment is not a sanctioned product.
