Industrial Union of Germany called catastrophic consequences of the cessation of gas supplies from the Russian Federation
The head of the German Industrial Union (BDI) Siegfried Ruswurm in an interview with the newspaper Bild am Sontag named catastrophic consequences of cutting off gas supplies from Russia.
“By now, the consequences of cutting off Russian gas supplies would be catastrophic. We must proceed from the fact that with a shortage of such volumes, gas would no longer be supplied to the final branches of our gas pipeline system,” he stressed.
Ruswurm added that in this case, a number of companies in Germany would be cut off from gas supplies, the affected firms would be forced to stop production. Some of them will never be able to launch it again, the head of the union specified.
Earlier it became known that Russia introduced blocking sanctions against Gazprom Group Germany. In addition, the Polish EuRoPol GAZ SA, the owner of the Polish section of the Yamal-Europe gas pipeline, and the Wingas/WIEH/WIEE trading group, which owns a package of contracts for the supply of Russian gas, as well as the largest gas storage operator in Europe, Astora, fell under restrictive measures. The full list includes 31 companies.
