Germany did not refute plans to nationalize part of Nord Stream 2 Russian news EN

The Ministry of Economy of Germany did not confirm or deny plans to take part of Nord Stream 2

A representative of the German Ministry of Economy refused to confirm or deny plans to nationalize part of the Nord Stream 2 gas pipeline, which runs through Germany. Thus, he answered the relevant question of the press, reports RIA News.

Earlier, the Spiegel publication published material that talked about the development of plans by the German Ministry of Finance to take part of the pipe in order to use it for gas supplies from floating regasification terminals previously chartered by RWE.

The corresponding decision has not yet been made, because along with the pluses, it has obvious minuses. In response, Russia will have more reasons to finally cut off supplies through the Nord Stream, and in addition, some businessmen are afraid of the nationalization of their own property in Russia.

Press Secretary of the President of Russia Dmitry Peskov did not comment on the article, explaining that at the official level there were no statements and assumptions.

Separately, the material says that it is possible to raise the pipe from the bottom of the sea and change its location, but to start work it will be necessary to agree on environmental issues.
