Permanent Representative of Crimea Muradov: regions of Ukraine taken under Russian control will leave it

permanent representative Crimea under the President of Russia, Deputy Prime Minister of the Crimean Government Georgy Muradov in conversation with RIA News predicted that the regions of Ukraine, which were taken under the control of the Russian military, would withdraw from its composition.

“According to specialists in state law, in accordance with Russian legislation, the regions of Ukraine must first decide to secede from Ukraine and declare their independence. Their recognition by the Russian Federation would open the way for them to join Russia,” the politician said.

He recalled that in 2014, the fate of Crimea was determined in this way, when the majority of the inhabitants of the republic expressed a desire to become part of Russia. At the same time, Muradov stressed that holding such referendums before the end of the special military operation would be a premature measure.

Formerly Deputy Chairman of the Security Council (SC) of Russia Dmitry Medvedev commented statements of the G7 foreign ministers, which they made following the results of the three-day meeting. He noted that the G7 statements “did not strike with their novelty”, and commented on each of these points, including anti-Russian sanctions.
