French customs confiscated money for humanitarian aid to children of Donbass
The head of the humanitarian association, Emmanuel Leroy, said that the French customs confiscated the money collected for humanitarian aid to the children of Donbass. This is reported RIA News.
A group of activists was detained at the Charles de Gaulle airport in Paris and held for almost 10 hours. The withdrawal of money was explained by the ban on the export of funds to Russia, as well as by “European directives.” The amount of donations did not exceed 10 thousand euros.
According to Leroy, donations have been collected since 2014 – those who wished to donate personal funds to buy medicines, clothes and toys for children’s clinics in Donbass.
Earlier in May Rosmolodezh in cooperation with the Association of Volunteer Centers opened recruitment of volunteers to participate in humanitarian missions in the Donetsk and Lugansk People’s Republics. Volunteers from Russia and residents of Donbass will be able to consolidate their efforts and provide assistance in the territories: removing rubble, restoring infrastructure and helping schoolchildren master the curriculum.
