In the UK, realtors will be required to disclose the names of property buyers

The UK government has come up with a new way to deal with the oligarchs – a bill is currently being prepared obliging realtors to disclose the names of the end buyers of real estate. This was announced by the Minister of Housing, Regional Development and Local Self-Government Michael Gove in an interview with the Sunday Telagraph, reports TASS.

“We want to end the money scams that have plagued the UK property market. Our market will no longer be open to corrupt officials and regimes laundering their money and hiding their identity,” he said.

It is noted that in addition to fulfilling the requirements for disclosing information about the ultimate owner of real estate, any legal entity involved in the transaction will also be required to provide data on the source of origin of homebuyers’ funds.

Formerly a representative of a Russian businessman Roman Abramovich commented data on the arrest of his entrepreneur’s property. The representative of the businessman denied the information that Abramovich has a house in Portugal.
