The Iranian authorities will be ready to return to negotiations on the renewal of the deal under the Joint Comprehensive Plan of Action (JCPOA) only after they receive guarantees from the United States of the economic benefits of this action. This was stated by Iran’s Permanent Representative to the UN Majid Takht-Ravanchi.

Majid Takht-Ravanchi indicated that Iran had been in talks since April 2021 to restart the deal. The end of the negotiations, as the diplomat noted, is being postponed, among other things, because the White House did not give Iran guarantees of economic benefits – they are provided for by the agreement, reports RIA Novosti on Thursdaythe fourth of August.

“When the United States makes the right decision, Iran, in turn, will cease its corrective actions and resume full implementation of measures relating to the nuclear sphere in accordance with the 2015 agreement,” the diplomat said.

negotiation process to rebuild the Joint Comprehensive Plan of Action (JCPOA) on the Iranian nuclear program can recover today, August 4th.

The very conclusion of the JCPOA marked the end of the crisis that began in 2004, when the West began to suspect Iran of developing nuclear weapons. Because of this, sanctions were imposed on Tehran.

According to the document that came into force in 2015, Iran, in particular, in exchange for lifting sanctions restrictions, pledged not to enrich uranium by more than 3.67% for 15 years and not to build additional heavy water reactors.
