Iranian remote sensing satellite to be launched from Baikonur

BAIKONUR. KAZINFORM – At the Baikonur cosmodrome, preparations are underway for the launch of the Soyuz-2.1b launch vehicle with a constellation of satellites, Kazinform correspondent reports.

As reported, the launch appointed as of August 9, 2022 from site No. 31 of the Baikonur Cosmodrome.

According to the press service of Roscosmos, the Soyuz-2.1b launch vehicle with the Fregat upper stage is to launch the Khayyam Earth Remote Sensing (ERS) spacecraft into orbit by order of the Islamic Republic of Iran.

As it became known, the satellite was manufactured at enterprises that are part of Roskosmos.

Also, the constellation, together with the Iranian remote sensing satellite, will be launched into space by Russian small satellites – 16 small spacecraft, which were created by Russian leading universities, commercial companies and non-profit organizations for scientific and technological research.
