Kyiv promised a gum corridor for residents of Zaporozhye to Russian-controlled territory
The Ukrainian authorities, represented by the Zaporozhye Regional Military Administration, promised on Sunday to open a humanitarian corridor for residents from Zaporozhye into Russian-controlled territory. This is reported RIA News with a link to the department’s Telegram channel.
According to the text of the message, the green corridor will be open from 10:00 to 14:00 local time. Residents of Zaporozhye will be able to get to the uncontrolled Kyiv territory through the village of Kamenskoye. At the same time, the corridor can be closed at any time if there is a threat to the safety of people leaving the region.
Previously UN reported that dozens of those who wanted to leave Mariupol could not leave and the organization will continue to make efforts to facilitate the evacuation of the Mariupol area. A spokesperson for the organization said it had “successfully completed” on Sunday, May 8, with the assistance of the UN and International Committee of the Red Cross another operation to evacuate more than 170 people from the Mariupol region to Zaporozhye.
