Macron said that Georgia will become a candidate for the EU after answering questions from the European Commission
President of France Emmanuel Macron called the conditions for granting Georgia the status of a candidate for European Union. He spoke about them at a briefing following the results of the first day of the EU summit in Brusselstransmits TASS.
The French leader clarified that for this Georgia needs to answer the priority questions that the European Commission. In turn, the President of Georgia Salome Zurabishvili declared the country’s readiness to “work with determination in the coming months to obtain candidate status.” She wrote about it in her Twitter-account.
Previously Macron notedthat the recognition of the European perspective of Ukraine, Moldova and Georgia is a strong signal towards Russia in the current geopolitical context.
