Price is an important factor when buying toys – poll

KAZINFORM – In order to determine the competence of parents when choosing toys for children, specialists from the Department of Sanitary and Epidemiological Control of the Almaty region conducted a survey among residents of the city of Taldykorgan on knowledge of the requirements for the safety of toys. This was reported by MIA “Kazinform” with reference to the press service of the department.

According to the results of the survey, it became known that 89% of consumers do not pay attention to the labeling of toys. A total of 40 respondents participated in the survey.

To the question: “What do you first of all pay attention to when buying a toy?” 72.5% of respondents answered – on the quality of the goods, 26.5% – on the country of production, 42% – on the price, and only 11% of respondents pay attention to the labeling. At the same time, for 73% of respondents, the price is an important fact in making a decision when buying toys.

To the question “Do you read the information on the label of a toy when buying it?” only 47% of the respondents answered: “Yes”.

It also turned out that 75% of consumers do not ask sellers for documents confirming the compliance of toys with safety requirements. In addition, 53% of respondents do not know the requirements for the safety of toys, established by the technical regulations of the Customs Union “On the safety of toys.”

After the survey, the residents were handed leaflets explaining the requirements for labeling toys.
