KARAGANDA. KAZINFORM Robbers attacked a taxi driver in Karaganda, Kazinform reports with reference to Polisia.kz.
On July 30, the Central Police Department of the Karaganda City Police Department received a report that a taxi driver had been attacked at one of the outlets on Ermekov Street. An investigative team arrived at the scene.
The 34-year-old victim explained that he worked as a taxi driver. In the evening, he served two unfamiliar men, whom he took to one address, then to another. When it became necessary to pay for taxi services, customers behaved boldly.
Taking advantage of their physical superiority, the attackers inflicted bodily injuries on the driver, took away his proceeds in the amount of 34,000 tenge, and, pushing him out of the car, fled in the victim’s car. The amount of damage amounted to 6 million 124 thousand tenge.
The taxi driver described the external signs of the intruders: one of them looked 25 years old, the other – 35 years old. He noted that he could identify them.
Soon, while combing the quarters of the city, one of the detachments of the patrol police regiment of the UP of the city of Karaganda found the victim’s car abandoned by the robbers.
On this fact, the police initiated a criminal case under article 191 of the Criminal Code of the Republic of Kazakhstan “Robbery”.
Officers of the criminal police in the course of operational-search activities established the identity of one of the attackers, who was registered with the police for committing property crimes.
On August 1, they detained the suspects – two men aged 22 and 33. They gave confessions. Physical evidence has been seized. An investigation is underway.
