Russia and Belarus must urgently take joint measures to strengthen the defense capability of the Union State. This was stated by the Minister of Defense of the Russian Federation Sergei Shoigu at a meeting with Belarusian colleague Viktor Khrenin in Moscowreports TASS.
“Circumstances dictate the need to take urgent joint measures to strengthen the defense capability of the Union State, increase the combat readiness of the regional grouping of troops and the unified regional air defense system,” the minister said.
Shoigu also added that the Russian side is ready to provide “any support to Belarusian friends” in this.
Earlier, the Ministry of Defense of Belarus predicted increased pressure from the West on Russia and Belarus. This is due to the persistence of the crisis situation in the region of Eastern Europe, which will continue to develop.
