PAVLODAR. KAZINFORM Most of the forest fires in the Pavlodar region were caused by lightning discharges. This was announced by the head of the regional territorial inspection of forestry and wildlife Ruslan Tulepbaev, Kazinform reports with reference to Pavlodarnews.kz.
Out of 118 fires, lightning was the source of fire in 81 cases. Ruslan Tulepbaev cited such statistics at a briefing at the regional communications service.
He also informed that over the past weekend, 16 forest fires were registered on the territory of the Ertis Ormany nature reserve, including one large fire that occurred in the Galka forestry of the Shaldai branch.
“Frequent causes of forest fires are crossings of uncontrolled steppe fires due to non-compliance with fire safety rules by the population, as well as during haymaking in areas adjacent to forests,” the speaker said.
This year, 949 hectares were affected by fires, of which 160 are forested areas. The damage amounted to 46.1 million tenge.
