Torpedo beat Yenisei in the match of the 37th round of the FNL and secured access to the RPL
Moscow “Torpedo” defeated Krasnoyarsk “Yenisey” in the match of the 37th round of the Football National League (FNL). This is reported by the correspondent of “Lenta.ru”.
“Avtozavodtsy” achieved victory with a minimum score, thanks to an accurate shot Muhammad Sultonov. The 29-year-old midfielder hit the Yenisei gate in the 85th minute. Success in the match with the Krasnoyarsk club and the defeat of Orenburg from SKA-Khabarovsk allowed the team of Alexander Borodyuk to climb to first place in the standings.
A round before the end of the championship, Torpedo secured a return to the Russian Premier League (RPL). Even in case of defeat in the final league match, the team will not be able to fall below the second line in the standings, which guarantees direct access to the elite division.
Thus, Torpedo will return to the RPL for the second time in modern history. The team left the league in 2006, having achieved an increase in the class only by the 2014/2015 season, after which the car factories again ended up in the FNL.
