The Ministry of Justice of Ukraine filed a lawsuit against Russia with the European Court of Human Rights (ECHR) in connection with a special military operation. This was announced on Thursday by the Minister of Justice of Ukraine Denis Malyuska.
“The Ministry of Justice has filed a new lawsuit against Russia with the European Court of Human Rights,” the press service of the Ministry of Justice quoted him as saying on its Facebook page (banned in Russia; owned by the Meta corporation, which is recognized as extremist in the Russian Federation).
On March 15, the Russian Federation began the process of withdrawing from the Council of Europe. On June 11, laws signed by Russian President Vladimir Putin were published on the non-execution in Russia of decisions of the ECHR adopted after March 15, 2022 – from the moment the Russian Federation filed an application to withdraw from the Council of Europe.
