Thus, the official representative of the Russian Foreign Ministry reacted to the statement of the German Foreign Minister Annalena Berbock, who warned of a possible aggravation of the situation with hunger around the world due to the events in Ukraine. Maria Zakharova is sure that the sanctions imposed against Russia by the United States and the countries of the European Union (EU) are to blame.

The opinion of the official representative of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of the Russian Federation on this shared in her Telegram channel. “Prices are rising due to sanctions imposed by the collective West under pressure from the United States. This is if we talk about the direct reason. Failure to understand this is a sign of either stupidity or deliberate misleading of the public,” Zakharova wrote.

She also called the collective West responsible for the collapse of Ukraine’s statehood. According to Zakharova, “Burbock’s predecessors did not just interfere in the situation in this country, but modeled Ukraine’s domestic and foreign policy manually.”

Russian Foreign Minister Annalena Burbock blamed the Russian Federation for the rise in world food prices. “Because of Russia’s actions, supplies are being cut off, prices are skyrocketing – not only here, but around the world – and severe famine threatens,” she said. The head of the German Foreign Ministry called the current situation “a blockade of food exports.”
