Ukrainian President Zelensky vowed to one day host Eurovision in Mariupol
The Ukrainian leader congratulated the Kalush Orchestra on their victory in the competition. According to the head of state, “the courage of Ukrainians amazes the world, and music conquers Europe.” Zelensky recalled that Kyiv will host an international event for the third time. He expressed hope that the representatives of Ukraine will again win the award.
“We will do everything so that one day the participants and guests of Eurovision will be hosted by Ukrainian Mariupol. Free, peaceful, rebuilt,” he wrote.
Kalush Orchestra won victory at Eurovision 2022 in the Italian Turin based on audience voting. The artists performed the song Stefania, which is dedicated to the mother of soloist Oleg Psyuk and all Ukrainian mothers.
