The police have identified a suspect in the theft of the painting by Anna Andrzhievskaya “Envy”, which disappeared from the exhibition at the “Winery” on Sunday. It is reported by “RIA News” with reference to Dmitry Khankin – co-owner of the Triumph gallery, which owns the painting.

“They haven’t found it yet, but they know who stole it,” Hankina’s agency is quoted as saying. In his opinion, the theft of a painting is an artistic action, “there are no economic motives here.”

RBC sent a request to the press service of the Main Directorate of the Ministry of Internal Affairs of Russia in Moscow and asked Dmitry Khankin and the press service of the Winzavod Foundation for the Support of Contemporary Art for a comment.

The picture was stolen from the exhibition of the nominees for the Anatoly Zverev Prize on the evening of November 21. About it reported on Instagram awards.
