The other day, the Russian Federation banned the Bulgarian language in the territory of occupied Ukraine, in this case we are talking about a ban on teaching in Bulgarian, the closure of Sunday schools and Bulgarian centers in the Zaporozhye region.

According to bourgas.ru, the Russian Federation has recently banned the Bulgarian language in the territory of the occupied Ukraine, in this case we are talking about a ban on teaching in Bulgarian, the closure of Sunday schools and Bulgarian centers in the Zaporozhye region. This was confirmed by the dean of the Faculty of History of Zaporozhye University, Professor Vladimir Milchev.

There are 30 Bulgarian villages in this area, we have a very good network of Sunday schools, which are supported by the Bulgarian Ministry of Education and local patrons. My friends from these villages tell me that it is forbidden to teach in Bulgarian, the dean said and specified that most of the inhabitants of these villages have left them.

According to him, the announced referendum in the occupied regions is Putin’s last chance to legitimize the Ukrainian lands seized by Russia.

“This is the shortest path to further escalation in the region,” said Professor Milchev.

According to him, the referendum cannot be legitimate.

“There will not be enough votes, since the majority of residents of large cities, such as Melitopol and Energodar, have left them and are in Ukrainian-controlled settlements,” Vladimir Milchev summed up.
