Russia has simplified the rules of state accreditation of educational institutions

From March 1, 2022, the procedure for passing state accreditation for schools, colleges and universities in Russia will be simplified. Prime Minister Mikhail Mishustin approved position, according to which schools, universities and colleges will no longer have to go through the state accreditation procedure repeatedly. This will reduce the administrative burden and allow educational organizations not to be distracted from their main work. The issued certificate will be valid indefinitely.

For those establishments that already have confirmation, it will be extended automatically. There will be no more redundant and overlapping requirements. Now the main evaluation criterion is the quality of training of students and schoolchildren. It will be regularly assessed by the relevant ministries and Rosobrnadzor. How informed previously the head of Rosobrnadzor Anzor Muzaev, the first such monitoring will take place in March 2023.

For universities, state accreditation is the most important document. Universities that have a certificate of state registration can issue a state diploma to graduates – a guarantee of the quality of training. Also, only with state accreditation, universities can train masters and graduate students, provide a deferment from the army.
