The net flow of foreign investment in real estate for the period from January to July turned out to be negative in the amount of 16.1 million euros.
The main amount of this negative flow comes from Russia – 12.3 million euros. For comparison, over the same period last year, when there was no war yet, investments by foreigners in real estate in our country were negative, but in the amount of 3.7 million euros.
The total volume of direct investments in the country in January-July 2022 is 924.9 million euros (1.2% of GDP), which is 134.1 million euros (12.7%) less than in January-July 2021. (positive inflow of 1059 million euros, 1.6% of GDP).
In July 2022 alone, investments amounted to 158.5 million euros, and for July 2021, positive inflows amounted to 202.5 million euros.
The authorized capital (transferred / withdrawn cash and contributions of non-residents to / from the capital and reserves of Bulgarian companies, as well as receipts / payments from real estate transactions in the country) is positive and amounts to 183.9 million euros for January – July 2022. This is 371.1 million euros more than in January-July 2021, which was negative in the amount of 187.1 million euros.
The largest direct investments in the country are in Austria (281.9 million euros), Belgium (104 million euros) and the British Virgin Islands (101.7 million euros), while the largest net negative flows are in the Netherlands (155.4 million euros). ) and Luxembourg (€103.9 million).
