Six organizers of illegal migration channel convicted in Crimea

The Yalta City Court issued a guilty verdict on six residents of the Republic of Crimea, who in May 2021 were convicted of illegal legalization of foreigners on the peninsula. This was reported by the press service of the FSB for the Republic of Kazakhstan and Sevastopol.

The criminal scheme was uncovered in one of the sanatoriums of the peninsula, whose officials, using their official position, organized the illegal entry of foreign citizens into the territory of the Russian Federation.

“Employees of the health resort exercised their right on behalf of a legal entity to make fictitious invitations for treatment in a sanatorium,” the FSB explained. – Such permits automatically gave foreigners the right to enter the territory of the Russian Federation during the period of anti-coronavirus restrictions.

With regard to two officials of the sanatoriums, the investigation department of the FSB investigated criminal cases on the organization of illegal migration using their official position. Third parties also participated in this scheme, acting as intermediaries – they provided the employees of the sanatoriums with all the information, documents and contacts of foreigners necessary for issuing invitations. Four such migration “managers” of the FSB were charged with counts of complicity in organizing the illegal entry of foreign citizens into the Russian Federation.

The court sentenced all participants in this scam to three to five suspended sentences with a probationary period of one to two and a half years and a fine of 50,000 to 100,000 rubles.

Recall that earlier such a criminal group was exposed in Yalta: it consisted of eight police officers and their civilian accomplices. And it was created by the head of the migration department of the Ministry of Internal Affairs of Yalta. 117 criminal cases were initiated against all accomplices under various articles of the Criminal Code of the Russian Federation, which were combined into one proceeding.
