Stellantis Corporation, which owns the Detroit Assembly Complex, faces penalties for bad odor. Its source is a facility in Detroit, which produces the new Jeep Grand Cherokee L.
According to the portal Detroit news, both residents of the city and workers of factories located in the neighborhood have already complained about the stench many times.
The first complaints about the unpleasant odor began a year ago. Stellantis has now submitted a 67-page report from independent experts to the Michigan Department of the Environment, Great Lakes and Energy, explaining the cause of the stench.
The corporation said that a plan for solving this problem has already been developed. To do this, the company will install special equipment for air purification from hazardous substances, as well as install additional hoods. This should keep Detroit safe from harmful emissions.
When exactly this will be done is not specified yet.
