Elon Musk proposed a plan to resolve the Ukrainian conflict. News of the day in the world and Russia today

American billionaire Elon Musk proposed his plan to resolve the conflict in Ukraine. He wrote about this on his Twitter page.

The businessman offers:

  • to repeat referendums in the Donetsk and Lugansk People’s Republics, Kherson and Zaporozhye regions under UN supervision;

  • recognize Crimea as part of the Russian Federation, as it was from 1783 “before Khrushchev’s mistake”;

  • provide the peninsula with water;

  • secure a neutral status for Ukraine.

Earlier in an interview with The Sunday Times, former Secretary of State (1973-1977) and National Security Adviser to the President of the United States (1969-1975) Henry Kissinger said that Western countries should take into account Russian interests when discussing a peaceful settlement of the situation in Ukraine in order to avoid increasing Chinese influence on Moscow .

The question now will be how to end this war. In the end, we need to find a place for Ukraine and a place for Russia if we don’t want Russia to become China’s outpost in Europe.”

said the veteran American politician.

On May 25, Kissinger, speaking at the economic forum in Davos, called on the West to abandon attempts to achieve a military defeat of Russia in Ukraine.

According to him, hostilities should be stopped as soon as possible, so Western countries should persuade Ukraine to start negotiations on conditions that Kyiv may find unacceptable for itself.

Negotiations must begin within the next two months, otherwise there will be turmoil and tensions that will not be easily overcome.

Ideally, the dividing line should be a return to the previous state of affairs.

Further hostilities will no longer be for the freedom of Ukraine – it will be a new war against Russia itself, ”

Kissinger said.

He added that from the point of view of the concept of realism, the role of a neutral buffer state would be more appropriate for Ukraine, rather than a “border of Europe”.
