The Bulgarian authorities are considering three versions of the bus accident, which killed more than 40 people. reported Bulgarian agency Bgnes.
According to the Deputy Prosecutor General Borislav Sarafov, the accident could have happened for two reasons: due to a driver’s error or due to a technical malfunction.
The mayor of Pernik (a city in western Bulgaria) Stanislav Vladimirov named a third possible reason. He suggestedthat the accident could have been due to rain that had lasted since November 22. In addition, the section of the road where the accident occurred is considered difficult due to the slope, he added.
Bulgarian Interior Minister Boyko Rashkov said that a fence had been found, into which a bus could enter.
