The head of the Sakhalin region, Valery Limarenko, gave management companies two days to clear the yards of Yuzhno-Sakhalinsk from snow. The regional governor wrote about this on his Instagram.
He noted that on Saturday, during a detour of the regional center, he checked how management companies cope with snow removal in the yards, met with their representatives, and talked with residents. It turned out that many public utilities are not ready to eliminate the consequences of a strong disaster.
“I set the task for all management companies to clean up all the yards that are under their control in two days. During the day, report on how the cleaning is going, if necessary, request help with equipment,” he wrote.
At the same time, he asked the residents to drive their cars out of the yards – also with the help of “managers”. This is necessary for the speedy cleaning of the yards.
A snow cyclone raged on Sakhalin for three days, during which time almost a month’s rainfall fell. The houses were littered with snow up to the windows of the first floors, cars – up to the roof. In Yuzhno-Sakhalinsk introduced emergency mode. According to the Sakhalin hydrometeorological service, on Saturday the cyclone will begin to leave the islands.
