The Ministry of Transport is preparing an automated system with which carriers will be able to choose the best way to transport goods by different modes of transport. Deputy Minister of Transport Alexander Poshivay told about this in an interview with Rossiyskaya Gazeta.
“The transport and economic balance will become an automated system that will unite all types of transport based on the analysis of a single transport network that has already been created,” he said.
“As a result, we will create a grid that will allow the consumer to choose the methods of cargo delivery in terms of the balance of time and price,” the deputy minister added.
He explained that the economic effect of transportation is determined on the basis of the transport and economic balance. If the carrier wants to deliver the cargo quickly but expensively, then he can use air transport. If you can carry it slowly and cheaply, then it will be transported by water. Road and railways are in the middle.
Sewing also noted that the transportation of goods over a distance of more than 600 km along the river is definitely more profitable than by road.
