Gastroenterologist Elena Tyulpina said that riboflavin, or vitamin B2, provides healthy skin and hair. It also prevents aging of the body, explained doctor in an interview with Channel Five.
According to the doctor, all biochemical processes in the body occur with the participation of B vitamins, including B2. It is essential for the metabolism of proteins, fats and carbohydrates. It is also called the “beauty vitamin” because it is involved in the synthesis of protein molecules in the body and slows down aging.
Tyulpina named foods rich in vitamin B2. Among them are food of both animal and vegetable origin. Vitamin B2 is found in milk, cheese, cottage cheese, eggs and offal – the liver and kidneys. Among herbal products, mushrooms and pine nuts are rich in this element.
“Given the high calorie content of pine nuts, we will not eat them in the quantities necessary to compensate for vitamin B2 deficiency,” the therapist emphasized.
To determine the level of vitamin B2 in the body, Tyulpina advised the Russians to seek help from specialists. Based on the results of the tests, the doctor selects the most appropriate dosage of riboflavin for each patient.
