A man suspected of murdering a Nizhny Novgorod municipal deputy was detained by officers of the OB DPS of the State Traffic Safety Inspectorate of the Russian MIA Administration for Nizhny Novgorod.
Irina Volk, an official spokesman for the Russian Interior Ministry, said that the crime was committed on January 11. In the evening of that day, a resident of the Koverninsky district turned to the hospital with a gunshot wound. He died from the received wound, however, before his death, he was able to tell who shot him. It turned out that the deceased was a municipal deputy.
To detain the suspect in the region, the “Intercept” plan was introduced. The work of the police was made easier by the fact that they knew exactly who to look for. As a result, the killer was detained by the traffic police in Nizhny Novgorod in a stopped taxi. The man tried to hide from the police, lying in the back seat of the car.
It turned out that the gunman was a resident of the Koverninsky district, who had been repeatedly brought to trial earlier. The detainee was taken into custody, investigators are working with him.
