Minister of Education of Russia Sergey Kravtsov visited the site of the Abilympics National Championship in Gostiny Dvor in Moscow. It runs from 28 to 31 October and has gathered more than a thousand participants.
The championship is organized by the Ministry of Education of Russia with the support of the Government of Moscow and the presidential platform “Russia – the Land of Opportunities”.
Sergey Kravtsov toured the competition grounds, visited the stand of the Moscow Government, talked with the main experts of various competencies and with representatives of new regions of our country. The guests came to the championship to study the Russian experience of inclusion and integration of students with disabilities into the system of secondary vocational education. The Minister discussed with them work with universities and colleges in the LPR, DPR, Kherson and Zaporozhye regions.
In addition, the head of the Ministry of Education of Russia met with the participants of the championship of previous years and discussed with them the prospects, pressing issues and the development of the vocational education system.
During the conversation, the Minister supported the idea of Danis Iskhakov, a participant in the Abilympics championship movement in the Masseur competence, to create the Abilympics youth community, which unites all regions of Russia.
– It is very important that nothing stopped you. The willpower that you show is worthy of great respect. Your example is important for colleagues, for students. After all, in spite of everything, you continued to develop your professional abilities. You can inspire children. This is very important, especially if we are talking about grades 5-7, when a worldview is formed. When a child sees that not everything is measured by material wealth, and next to us there are people-heroes who have overcome themselves and go further,” said Sergey Kravtsov.
The meeting also discussed the possibility of participation of children with disabilities in the All-Russian Olympiad for schoolchildren, internships for students and graduates, as well as obtaining a new specialty for adults. Photographer-reporter Alexander Efremov from the Republic of Tatarstan, Alexander Prokopyev from Moscow, director of the Public Association “Union of All-Russian and Leading Organizations for the Disabled AbiArt” Natalya Krel from Moscow and other participants of the meeting shared their ideas with the Minister.
– The open source software system in Russia is developing very quickly. And we need to create programs that will allow at any age to master a new profession. Those specialties that can be obtained in colleges are very necessary and in demand. The Abilympics championship movement is a very important area of work, we will do it better and better. We know little about what a person is capable of, and you show that his possibilities are limitless,” said the Minister of Education.
