China warns Germany about the consequences of statements on Taiwan

The statements of Foreign Minister Annalena Burbock are not true. This was announced at a briefing by the official representative of the Chinese Ministry of Foreign Affairs Hua Chunying.

“Violation of the One China principle could undermine bilateral relations with Germany. We hope that the German side will take an objective and correct position on Taiwan,” Chunying quoted TASS as saying.

The Chinese diplomat clarified that the recent words of German politicians cause discontent among the Chinese government. In particular, earlier Annalena Burbock said in New York that Berlin opposes non-compliance with generally accepted legislative norms, including by China. She added that when a large neighbor attacks a small one, “international law is violated.”
