Investigative Committee of the Russian Federation opened a criminal case after the poisoning of 30 children in a camp in the Chelyabinsk region

Investigative Committee of Russia filed a criminal case under article 238 of the Criminal Code of the Russian Federation (“Provision of services that do not meet safety requirements”) after poisoning more than 30 children in the Elanchik health camp in Miass Chelyabinsk region. This was reported to in the press service of the department.

Head of the UK Alexander Bastrykin instructed the head of the investigative department for the region Petr Reshetnikov submit a report on the investigative actions carried out.

According to available information, more than 30 children aged from eight to 17 were poisoned in the camp. The Chairman of the Investigative Committee demanded a comprehensive study of the circumstances of the incident, to find out its causes. The course of the investigation was taken under control in the central office of the Investigative Committee.

On August 2, it became known that from the children’s camp “Republic of Friendly” in Trans-Baikal Territory hospitalized 39 children and one adult who were diagnosed with acute intestinal infection.
