Government continues to work on creation infrastructure of the Northern Sea way – the most important transport corridor national and world values. Dispositionasserting plan his until 2035, was signed by Prime Minister Mikhail Mishustin.

The main goals of this work are to ensure reliable and safe transportation of goods and goods for people living in the Far North, as well as to create conditions for the implementation of investment projects in the Arctic zone of the country.

In total, there are more than 150 events in the plan. Among them is the construction of the terminal for liquefied natural gas and gas condensate “Utrenny”, the oil loading terminal “Bukhta Sever”, the coal terminal “Yenisei”.

In addition, the plan provides for the construction of coastal and hydraulic structures to ensure Baimsky deposits, creation marine transshipment complexes of liquefied natural gas in the Kamchatka Territory and the Murmansk Region, a hub port for organizing transit traffic in Vladivostok.

It is also planned to build a transport and logistics hub in the sea port Korsakov on Sakhalin, development of the Murmansk and Arkhangelsk transport hubs, construction of bunkering and maintenance bases in the ports of Tiksi and Dikson.

A separate section of the plan is devoted to the creation of ships of the icebreaking fleet, including the lead icebreaker of the Leader project, and the development of Arctic shipbuilding and ship repair production facilities.

In addition, measures are envisaged for the construction of a rescue fleet of 46 ships, equipping Arctic integrated emergency rescue centers of the Ministry of Emergency Situations by helicopters. An Arctic satellite constellation will also be created, which will provide hydrometeorological and navigational support for shipping and will allow assessing climate change.

The total amount of funding for the activities of the plan is almost 1.8 trillion rubles.

The Northern Sea Route is the shortest water route between the European part of Russia and the Far East. The length of the path from the Kara Gate to the bay Providence is about 5.6 thousand km. At the same time, it is completely located in the territorial waters and the exclusive economic zone of Russia, which is especially important in the face of external sanctions pressure, when the logistics supply chains of products are disrupted.

“This is a reliable sea route, widely demanded by business and, of course, by people who live in the Arctic and the Far East,” Mikhail Mishustin emphasized. during operational meeting with vice-premiers on August 1, when the decision to create the Main Directorate of the Northern Sea Route was discussed.

In its turn Deputy Prime Minister – Plenipotentiary Representative of the President in the Far Eastern Federal District Yuri Trutnev noted that every year the duration of navigation along the Northern Sea Route is increasing.

– We can spend more time on ships without permanent icebreaking wiring. But the demand for the Northern Sea way will be very much depend on how he will be safe and comfortable. For this, a plan for the development of the Northern Sea Route has been developed, – Yuri Trutnev emphasized.
