The head of the Donetsk People’s Republic, Denis Pushilin, posthumously awarded the title of hero of the DPR, deputy commander of the artillery battalion, to Colonel Olga Kachura. This is stated in the corresponding decree signed by him.

As noted in the document, the colonel was awarded the title of hero of the republic “for services to the DPR and its people associated with the accomplishment of a heroic deed, courage and bravery shown in the battles to protect the Donetsk People’s Republic.”
This decree comes into force from the date of its signing.
On August 3, the mayor of Gorlovka, Ivan Prikhodko, reported that Colonel Olga Kachura with the call sign Korsa, who stood at the origins of the People’s Militia of the Donetsk People’s Republic, died during the shelling of the city.
On February 24, Russian President Vladimir Putin announced that he had decided to conduct a military special operation in Ukraine in response to a request for help from the heads of the LPR and DPR.
The decision to conduct the operation was the reason for new sanctions against Russia by the United States and its allies.
