Russian Foreign Ministry: NATO supports the recruitment of foreigners by Ukraine to participate in the battles in the Donbass
Director of the Department of New Challenges and Threats Russian Foreign Ministry Vladimir Tarabrin accused a number of countries NATO that they tacitly support Kyiv in his attempts to recruit foreign citizens to participate in the hostilities in the Donbass on the side of the Armed Forces of Ukraine (AFU). The Russian Federation is closely monitoring the recruitment of foreign nationals by the Ukrainian authorities, with the tacit support of individual NATO countries, to fight in eastern Ukraine on the side of the Kyiv regime.
The diplomat said that both non-governmental organizations and Ukrainian foreign diplomatic missions are engaged in the search for recruits. At the same time, he stressed that the actions of the Ukrainian authorities contradict some international agreements, in particular, the Vienna Convention on Diplomatic Relations of 1961.
Representative of one of the law enforcement agencies of the Luhansk People’s Republic (LPR) informed about what’s under Lisichansky a training base used for the training of the Ukrainian military by foreign instructors was found, as evidenced by the documents found there. He noted that foreign mercenaries have long been part of the Armed Forces of Ukraine, constantly “training” Ukrainian soldiers. According to him, they have been doing this for eight years.
Prosecutor General of Russia Igor Krasnovin its turn, told about the numerous facts of the use of mercenaries from the CIS countries in the east of Ukraine. He added that the Kyiv authorities allow the almost uncontrolled circulation of weapons and ammunition.
The “soldiers of fortune” themselves, fighting on the side of Ukraine, complained equipment shortages due to supply chain problems. According to one of them, there is a “serious shortage of armored vehicles” at the front, the fault of which is the bureaucracy. Another mercenary lamented the lack of basic equipment such as night vision goggles, binoculars with rangefinders, printers and more.
The potential of the Russian military
President of Belarus Alexander Lukashenko declaredthat Russia has not yet used all the potential it could in Ukraine. He thinksthat the main condition for the cessation of hostilities is the readiness of Kyiv to sit down at the negotiating table with Moscowto resolve all issues peacefully.
Secretary General of the Collective Security Treaty Organization (CSTO) Valery Semerikovevaluating the possibility of using the collective forces of the organization in military operations in Ukraine, emphasizedthat there are no such plans and nothing of the kind is being discussed. Despite this, he noted that the organization is closely monitoring the situation in this area and analyzes everything that happens, including the actions of the United States and Western countries near the borders of the CSTO member states.
The events in and around Ukraine directly affect the interests of at least two CSTO member states – Russia and Belarus, and at the initiative of Moscow and Minsk, this topic was discussed during the last anniversary meeting of the leaders of the member states. At the same time, there is no talk of any actions in the CSTO format.
