The world may be on the brink of a nuclear catastrophe or a large-scale war due to the actions of Western countries around Taiwan and Ukraine, informs “Ura.ru” with reference to the British edition of The Guardian.

According to experts, the United States represents a “strategic ambiguity”: on the one hand, Washington declares that it is ready to provide military assistance to Taiwan, on the other hand, the US authorities continue to adhere to the “one China” principle. At the same time, a similar scenario is observed in relation to the situation around Ukraine.
The article says that the fate of Kyiv and Taipei deserve all-round diplomatic support. At the same time, Ukraine and Taiwan should not be allowed to slide into a global military conflict or a nuclear catastrophe. The authors of the material believe that the West should be ready to retreat without calling it a defeat.
The Guardian notes that Russia and China are currently experiencing border disputes similar to those that occur in most parts of the world. At the same time, Moscow and Beijing do not strive, as Western countries, to “own the world”, acting solely in the interests of the perimeter of their borders.
Recall that China announced the start of military exercises in three areas off the coast of Taiwan. The army has stepped up its combat readiness, the strait between Taiwan and China will be patrolled by warships. This comes after US House Speaker Nancy Pelosi’s visit to Taiwan.
